Obituary: PEORIA -- Paul E. Cochran, 84, of 1043 Madonna Drive, Quincy, formerly of Peoria, died Wednesday, April 3, 1996, at Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg.

Born March 4, 1912, in Pike County to Charles A. and Margaret Ellen Henthorn Cochran, he married Lela May Standbridge on June 15, 1935, in Springfield, Mo. She died Sept. 1, 1991. Two brothers also preceded him in death.

Surviving are three sons, Marvin E. of Galesburg, Collin M. of Mapleton and Van E. of Martinsville; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Wanda Lea) Bonner of Wheatridge, Colo., and Mrs. Frank (Iva Dell) Johnson of Los Angeles; one brother, William R. of Atchison, Kan.; two sisters, Vera M. Kill of Liberty and Gladys M. Major of Cedartown, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He graduated from Western Illinois State Teacher's College in Macomb. He was a teacher and principal for 42 years. He taught in Liberty, Kinderhook, Concord and Williamsfield. He taught in Peoria the last 31 years of his career and also coached, retiring in 1974.

He was a former member of Kinderhook Methodist Church. He attended Richfield Methodist Church and Williamsfield Methodist Church. He was a member of Peoria Independent Sports Club.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home in Quincy, where visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Burial will be in Samuel Taylor Cemetery in Rockport.

Memorials may be made to Richfield Methodist Church or any charity.
