Ada M. Root, 69, 7972 Burbank Road, Wooster, OH, died Thursday, November 10, 1994 at her residence.  She was born in Cameron on September 20, 1925 of John D. and Alice Jane Bouchner (?) Henthorn.

She was a past member of the Cameron Church of Christ.

Preceding her in death beside her parents was her first husband, James A. Pittman, and sister, Sarah Atkinson.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; two sons, James P. Pittman, Rittman, and Dennis L. Pittman, Wooster, OH; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Ray Henthorn, Shadyside, and Paul Henthorn of Woodsfield.

Friends visited at Johnston-Schlabach Funeral Home at Shreve, OH on Saturday, Nov. 12, 1994 where services were held Sunday afternoon with Rev. Ray Headings officiating.  Burial followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Shreve, OH.

Joseph Francis Goddard, 65, of Youngstown, OH died January 3, 1956 in Glen Dale, [WV].  He was born in [Proctor] Wetzel County, October 8, 1890, the son of David and Elizabeth Bonar Goddard.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Elizabeth Goddard, four sons, Floyd of Canfield, OH, Okey and Dale of Youngstown and Beryl of Cleveland, four daughters, Mrs. Ora Straley and Mrs. Wilma Payne of Youngstown, Mrs. Opal Wormley of Cleveland and Mrs. Erma Randall of Poland, OH, two sisters, Mrs. Leulla [sic] Huggins and Mrs. Levina Huggins of Moundsville, 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Cecelia Jones Dies

Mrs. Cecelia Henthorne Jones was born Jun 8, 1856, and departed this life August 12, 1920, being at the time of her death 64 years, 2 months, and 4 days old.

She was united in marriage with H.J. Jones at Cameron, OHio, January 7, 1881. To this union was born two daughters, Mrs. Earl Ward, of Woodsfield, and Mrs. Grover Boughner, of Cameron, also four sons, Carl, Clifford, Glenn, and Lynn all of Cameron.

She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her departure. She will be sadly missed in the community where she was ever ready to minister to the sick and needy.

She was a member of the Church of Christ, having obeyed the Gospel young in life. Funeral services were conducted by J.C. Atkinson, Friday, August 13, after which the body was laid to rest in the new cemetery at Cameron, Ohio.

Dr. Michael J. Maury, resident of 1307 LaClair Ave., Pittsburgh, [PA] and physician in that city, died Tuesday at 5 a.m. at the Angelus Hospital there.

He was born Dec. 6, 1892, in Clarington, [OH], a son of L.S. and Julia Boughner Maury, and was a 32nd degree Mason.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dorothy Maury; a daughter, Virginia; three sons, Donald, Samuel, and William, all of the home; two sisters, Miss Jane and Miss Alma Maury, both of Clarington.

Friends will be received at the Rush Funeral Home at Clarington after 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 with Minister J.V.A. Traylor officiating. Burial will be in the Cameron Cemetery.

Mrs. Mazie Miller, 88, Clarington, [OH] Route 2, died Thursday [27 Mar 1952] at 10:30 a.m. She was born in Cameron, Ohio, and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Pearl Henthorn of Beallsville Route 3, Mrs. Julia Wenzenried of Beallsville Route 1, Mrs. Edna Pritchett of Akron; three sons, Elbert of Reding, Calif., George of Clarington Route 2 and William of the home.

The body is at the Rush funeral home, Clarington, pending final arrangements.

Mineral Ridge, [OH] - Stephen W. Brothers. 90 of 363 N. Main St., died of uremic poisoning at 4:10 p.m. Wednesday at the Glenn View Manor Nursing Home after 10 month illness.

Born Oct. 24, 1876, in Monroe County OH, a son of James and Caroline Boughner Brothers, he retired in 1954 from Youngstown Steel Car, where he had been a storeroom keeper.

He was the oldest member of the Mineral Ridge Church of Christ and had served 33 years as Sunday School superintendent, Mr. Brothers was the first master and the last of the three founders of Meander Grange, He held all seven degrees and had served four times as master of the Grange.

Mr. Brothers was a member of Mineral Ridge Lodge 497, IOOF, Golden Age Club of Niles, and served on the Weatherfield Twp. board of education from 1934 - 38.

His wife Hattie Hinton Brothers, died in 1935. He leaves one son, Gerald E., of Warren; a daughter, Mrs Thelma Stillwell, of Columbiana; 19 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren. A son, Paul was killed in Africa in World War II.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Church of Christ. The body will lie in state one hour before the service. Friends may call tonight and Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel.

Interment will be in Crownhill Cemetery. The Rev. Joseph Fleshman will officiate.

Ray A. Henthorn, 79, 3641 Central Ave., Shadyside, [OH], died Friday, Aug. 6, 1999 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, [WV]. He was born Nov. 30, 1919 in Cameron, [OH], a son of the late John and Alice Boughner Henthorn.

He was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Yorkville Plant, attended Lincoln Avenue United Methodist Church, Shadyside, a member of Beallsville Masonic Lodge and an Army veteran of World War II.

In addition to his parents, he was preceeded in death by three sisters, Wanda Lee Henthorn, Sarah Atkinson and Ada Mae Root.

Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Conner Henthorn, a son John of Shadyside, two daughters, Ellen Brooks of Washington Court House and Linda Messimer of Salem; a brother Paul Henthorn of Woodsfield, five grandchildren; a great grandchild.

Friends will be received at the Bauknecht Funeral Home, Shadyside, today 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Kurt Landerholm officiating. Burial follows in Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatton Point.
