OBITUARY: Butler, (d. 5-5-59) Mrs. Ida M., 87, of Fork Ridge, Marshall County, and widow of George W. Butler, died Tuesday [5 May 1959] in the Reynolds Memorial Hospital [Glen Dale, Marshall Co., WV] after a long illness.

Friends are being received at the Grisell Funeral Home, Moundsville, after 4 p.m. today.  The body will lie in state at the Proctor Christian Church on Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at which time services will be held.  Burial will be in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.

OBITUARY:
Mary Ann Butler, 89, of Reader, [WV], died Wednesday at home. She was a member of the Eight Mile Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Q. Butler.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Alice Butler and Edith Henthorne, both of Reader, [WV]; four sons, Melvin, Albert and Peter all of Wellsburg, and Curtis of Weirton; two sisters, Goldie Rice and Martha LeMasters both of Wellsburg; a brother, Clyde Easton of Reader; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.

Friends received at the Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, after 2 p.m. Thursday where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday. Interment in Fox Cemetery, Reader, [WV].

OBITUARY: James Q. Butler
James Quince Butler, 52, well-known and very highly respected citizen of Eight Mile Ridge, near Reader, [WV], passed away at his home there on Monday March 20, after an illness of several months.

He was born in Proctor, [WV] on April 9, 1881, and had been a resident of this county all his life. He had been a member of the Church of Christ for twenty-eight years and was active in church work.

Funeral services were conducted at the Church of Christ at Far, W.Va., on Wednesday, March 22, 1933, in charge of Rev. A.E. Wickham, assisted by Rev. J.E. Ferrebee. Interment in Fox cemetery was in charge of Harry Palmer, Pine Grove, [WV] funeral director.

His his survived by his widow, Mary Ann Butler, five sons, Melvin, Albert, Ester, Peter and Curtis; two daughters, Edith and Alice Butler, of Far; two brothers H.E. Butler and Curtis Butler, of Far; ... sisters, Mrs. Marion Smith, of Proctor; Mrs. Henry Mason, of Reader; Mrs. Louella Cozart, of Proctor, and Mrs. Charles Burgess of Reader, besides a host of more distant relatives and many friends who deeply regret his passing.

Edith M. Henthorne, 69, of Star Route, Reader, [WV], died Tuesday, July 14, 1987 in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, [WV]. She was born Dec. 2, 1917, in Wetzel County, [WV], daughter of the late James Q. and Mary Ann Eastham [Butler]. She was a member of the Eight Mile Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Henthorne, in 1985; two brothers.

Surviving are a son, James C. of Reader; two daughters, Wanda Henthorne of Sistersville, and Linda Greenwalt of Reader; three brothers, Albert and Pete Butler, both of Wellsburg, and Curt Butler of Weirton; a sister, Mary Alice Butler of Reader; four grandchildren.

Friends were received at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, where services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday with David Lively officiating. Interment in Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Beech Bottom.
