Obituary: PEORIA -- Phillip C. Baxter, 62, of Peoria, formerly of Camdenton, Mo., died at 12:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 1994, in King man, Ariz.

Born Feb. 17, 1932, in Peoria to William and Goldie Lance Baxter, he married Shirley A. Hinthorn on Dec. 19,1953, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, James and Roger, both of Peoria; three daughters, Mrs. Billy (Cindy) Halstead, Mrs. Nathan (Sherry) Miller and Crystal Baxter, all of Peoria; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Gerald (Joyce) Collins of Peoria. He was preceded in death by one brother.

He was a firefighter for the Peoria Fire Department for 28 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Illinois Association of Retired Fire Fighters and Fire Fighters Local 544. He was a member of Elks Lodge 20 in Peoria.

He was an Air Force veteran.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, where Elks services will be at 5:45 p.m. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or any charity.
