Obituary: (Zanesville, OH) Times Recorder, 11 Nov 1974
Woodsfield [OH] - Gary Everett Henthorn, 27, of Sardis Route 1 apparently drowned Saturday afternoon while setting muskrat traps in a creek near Antioch, according to Monroe County Coroner Dr. J. W. Blevins.
Dr. Blevins said Henthorn apparently slipped and fell in waist-deep water, his hip-boots apparently filled with water and he was unable to reach dry land.
He was born Nov. 15, 1946 in Sardis, the son of Mrs. Estel Bonam Henthorn of Sardis Route 1 and the late Everett Henthorn.
Survivors include his mother, his widow, Beverly Smith Henthorn; a daughter, Kimberly, and a son, Mark, both of the home, a sister, Mrs. Darla Beckett of Heath; a brother, K. Henthorn of Sardis Route 1, and a grandmother, Mrs. Jane Stine of Columbus.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at Bauer and Turner Funeral Home here where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery near Sardis.
