McCune, Opal E.

CALDWELL [OH] -- Opal E. McCune, 89, formerly of Caldwell died Thursday (July 6, 1995) at the home of her daughter in North Canton.

She was born Jan. 2, 1906, in Brookfield Township, daughter of the late Millie Jones Haudenschield. She was a housewife and member of First Church of Christ.

Mrs. McCune was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. McCune; a son Bernard Moore; two sisters, Louise Hupp and Esther Clark; and a brother, Donald Moore.

She leaves a daughter, Margaret Hayhurst of North Canton; three sisters, Mary Haga of Sharon, Audrey Hann of Malta and Helen Headley of Wellston; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at 1 P.M. Saturday at Murphy McCurdy Funeral Home with services following at 2 P.M. James Garrett will officiate. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery.

McCune, Rosa

Mrs. Rosa McCune, 58, wife of Thomas McCune of Belle Valley, died in St. Francis Hospital, Monday. She had been a patient for 10 years.

A member of the First Church of Christ in Caldwell, [OH] she leaves her husband; a son Herbert, of Gordon, W.Va.; her mother, Mrs. Mary Pierce of Cambridge; two brothers, Lewis and Alva Pierce of Cambridge, and a sister, Mrs. Sabilla Badwell of Canton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 P.M. in the First Church of Christ of Caldwell. Rev. Resse McGoldrick will officiate and burial will be in Northwood Cemetery. The body is at the McVay Funeral Home, Caldwell.

McCune, Herbert Lewis

Herbert "Red" Lewis McCune, 72, of Gordon, W.Va., formerly of Belle Valley, died Saturday (Jan. 14, 1984) at Boone Memorial Hospital in Madison, W.Va., following a lengthy illness.

He was born March 17, 1911 in Belle Valley, the son of the late Thomas and Rosa Pierce McCune. He was a retired employee of the West Moorland Coal Co., of Clothire, W.Va.

Mr. McCune leaves his wife, the former Betty Bingham; and a son Thomas McCune of Man, W.Va.

Graveside services will be 1:30 P.M. Tuesday morning at Northwood Cemetery with the Rev. David Eubanks and Rev. W. T. Griffins officiating. Handley Funeral Home in Danville, W.Va. is in charge of arrangements.

McCune, Hazel Millicent

CALDWELL [OH] --- Hazel Millicent McCune, 85, of Belle Valley, died Wednesday (Nov. 1994) at Guernsey Memorial Hospital.

She was born July 10, 1909, in Spencer Township, Guernsey County, daughter of the late Charles and Etta Lyons Rayner.

Mrs. McCune was a homemaker and a member of Caldwell Free Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen D. "Johnny" McCune on March 28, 1990.

Mrs. McCune leaves three daughters, Virginia Wendel of Columbus, Nellie Allman of Heath and Joyce McMillen of Cambridge; a son Aubrey McCune of the home; a half-sister, Beulah Rossiter Anderson of Caldwell; two half-brothers, John and James R. Rayner, both of Cumberland R.D.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home, where services will be 11 A.M. Saturday. Burial will be in Hokinsville Cemetery.

McCune, Elmer E.

DUNCAN FALLS [OH] -- Elmer E. "Dewey" McCune, 94, of Zanesville, died Friday (May 3, 1996) at the Muskingum County Home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1901 in Belle Valley, son of the late Thomas and Mary Yoho McCune.

He was a miner for 20 years and worked for 15 years on the highway department.

He attended Ark Springs Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary McCune, on Jan. 13, 1990; Also deceased are six brothers, Orville, T.R., Silas, Harry, John Owen and Bill McCune; three sisters, Inez Hannum, Cleo Watson and Freda McCune.

He leaves a son Carl "Bud" McCune of McConnelsville; four daughters, Geraldine Rapp of Canton, Maxine Spillman of Bolivar and Lucille Shook and Donna Dingey, both of Blue Rock; 19 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday at Thompson-Feris Funeral Home, Duncan Falls, where services will be 11:30 A.M. Monday. Burial will be in Ark Springs Cemetery.
