OBITUARY: JOHN W. DAGUE DIES TODAY - AGED RETIRED FARMER SUCCUMBS AT HIS ELM GROVE RESIDENCE

Dague, John W. 86, retired Marshall County farmer and a resident of Elm Grove for the past 22 years died this morning (Wednesday, August 9, 1939) at 7 o'clock at his home, 110 Center Street, (Wheeling, West Virginia) following on an extended illness.

Mr. Dague was born in Viola, Marshall County, WV, June 16, 1853, a son of Daniel Dague (1814-1882) and Eliza Jane Luke Dague (1815-1888), members of pioneer families of that vicinity. He resided at Viola the greater part of his life and was engaged in farming there for many years. Mr. Dague united with the Sand Hill United Methodist Church when 11 years old and transferred membership to the Elm Grove Methodist Church when he moved to that District.

Surviving are his wife, Hannah [A.] Jones Dague, four children, Miss Carrie M. Dague at home, Mrs. Suzanna Giesler of Barryton, Michigan; George Norman Dague of West Finley, Pennsylvania; Oscar Dague of Lake, Michigan; one sister, Mrs. Laura Jones of West Finley, Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The body was removed to the Crider Funeral Home. Time for services will be announced later.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon (August 11, 1939) in the Chapel of the Crider (now Kepner) Funeral Home. Rev. A. Coleman Brown, pastor of Elm Grove Methodist Church, Rev. John Q. Myers, pastor of Elm Grove Church of God, and Rev. A. M. Barlow, of Huntington, WVa., former Elm Grove Methodist Church pastor, will officiate. Interment is to follow in Stone Church Cemetery (Elm Grove, Wheeling, WV).

Dague, George Norman, 84, of R.D. #2, West Finley, Pennsylvania, died at Washington Manor Rest Home, Washington, PA at 6:45 p.m. Saturday (November 8, 1969). He was born May 5, 1885, in Viola, Marshall County, WV, a son of John Wesley Dague (1853-1939) and Hannah A. Jones Dague (1859-1941). He was a farmer all his life and attended the Dallas Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Alice I. Faubel [may be Fauble] Dague, whom he married July 25, 1908; one son, George Faubel Dague of R. D. 2, West Finley, PA; three daughters, Mrs. Louise Hall of Proctor, WV; Mrs. Marjorie Steadman of Pittsburgh, PA; and Mrs. Estelle Little of R.D. 1, West Alexander, PA; one sister, Mrs. Annie Gieseler, of Barryton, Michigan; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

One son, two brothers, and one sister, preceded him in death.

Friends will be received at Kepner Funeral Home, 107 Key Avenue, Elm Grove (Wheeling) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday were services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. W. D. Winters officiating.

Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery (Sand Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery)

OBITUARY: Rites Wednesday For Daniel Dague
Funeral services for Daniel Dague, 50, well known Marshall County farmer, who died at his home, Viola, WV, yesterday morning [January 29, 1934] at 7 o'clock, will be conducted at the Chapel of the Crider Brothers (now Kepner) Funeral Home, Elm Grove on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o' clock Rev. A. M. Barlow, pastor of the Elm Grove M. E. Church, will officiating and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.

Mr. Dague's death following an extended illness of heart trouble. He was born on the farm on which he died and had spent his entire life near Viola. He was born April 2, 1883. The decedent was a member of the Sand Hill M. E. Church. His parents were John Wesley Dague (1853- 1939) and Hannah A. Jones Dague (1859-1941).

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margaret Dague, his parents, one daughter, Miss Margaret Dague (later Mrs. Harold Koontz) and one son, Charles Woodruff Dague, at home. Two sisters, Miss Carrie M. Dague, instructor at Wheeling High School and Mrs. Susanna Giesler, living in Michigan and two brothers, Oscar Dague of Peters Run and Norman Dague of Sand Hill, also survive.

OBITUARY: Carrie Dague Rites Tuesday - Former Wheeling High School Teacher Died at Elm Grove Home Sunday.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o' clock at the Crider (now Kepner) Funeral Home for Miss Carrie Dague, who died Sunday morning [April 11, 1943] at 10 o' clock at her home, 110 Center Street, Loring Place.

Dr. J. C. Buckley of Elm Grove Methodist Church will conduct the services. Burial will be in Stone Church Cemetery.

Miss Dague, a well known Ohio County educator, had been ill for the past few years and was serious for the past month.

She was born near Viola in Marshall County [WV, November 4, 1881], a daughter of the late John Wesley Dague [June 16, 1853-Aug. 9, 1939] and Hannah A. Jones Dague [July 13, 1859-Aug. 13, 1941], descendants of pioneer Marshall County families.

Miss Dague attended the rural schools in Marshall County and West Liberty College. She took her post graduate work from the University of Pittsburgh, West Virginia University and Columbia University.

She began her teaching career in the Lime Run and Viola schools and later taught in the high schools at Hinton, Clarksburg, and was a member of Wheeling High School faculty when she was forced to retire because of ill health three years ago.

She was a member of the American Federation of Teachers and belonged to the National and State Education Associations.

She was a devout member of Elm Grove Methodist Church and had taught the Golden Links Bible class of the church for the passed several years. She was a member of the Women Society of Christian Service of this organization. She was an active member of the Women Christian Temperance Union and was a charter member of the Wheeling Y.W.C.A.

Surviving are two brothers, Oscar S. Dague of Lake, Michigan; and Norman Dague of West Alexander, Pennsylvania; a sister, Mrs. Anna Gieseler of Berryton, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held this afternoon [April 13, 1943] at 2 o'clock at Crider Funeral Home, Dr. J. C. Buckley of Elm Grove Methodist Church officiating.
