OBITUARY:
Jason Hendershot, 85, passed away at his home at Kodol, [Wetzel Co., WV] last Wednesday [21 Aug 1940] and funeral rites were held for him at the Mt. Olive church near Kodol Friday.

Rev. N.L. Casey of Pine Grove preached the funeral and interment was made in the church cemetery by the Palmer Funeral Home.

A son of Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Hendershot, he was born in Wetzel County Sept. 26, 1855.  He was a member of the Christian church.

Survivors include four sons: Odgar, Wayne, Bert, and Okey Hendershot; and three daughters, Mrs. Hazel King, Mrs. Dakota Scritchfield and Mrs. Jessie Efaw. of Kodol.

OBITUARY:
James Franklin Higginbotham, 75, died at his home in Paden City, [WV] Monday [17 Aug 1936] after a lingering illness of several months. Funeral services were held in the Paden City Church of Christ. Rev. A.E. Harper of Newport, Ohio and Rev. Cornelius Abbott of Middlebourne officiated. Burial was made in the Northview Cemetery at New Martinsville.

He was born in Wetzel County, Dec. 10, 1860, the son of George Sansom Higginbotham and Georgianna Earnshaw Higginbotham.

A son, Owen F. preceded him in death in 1892.

Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Huldah Hendershot Higginbotham, two daughters, Mrs. Allen Brown of Sunbury, PA and Mrs. Edward Meeker of California; two sons, Cecil at home and James Arnold of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Garner of Hundred and Mrs. Mary Hunt of Power. Fifteen grandchildren also survive. (August 17, 1936)
