BIOGRAPHY: Synopsis
He was married [to Lillian Alice Liston on 20 Nov 1912 in New Martinsville, WV] by Rev. Lemon Dotson, Minister of the Gospel.
He worked as a telegraph operator for the B&O Railroad Co. He worked until 1935, 25 years. He was originally a brakeman. He fell under a train and lost his right leg. He used a wooden leg attached to the shoulder with a harness. It remained painful throughout his life.
He lived at Glovers Gap, near Mannington, WV. He lived at New Martinsville, Wv from 1930 to 1934. He later lived at Jacksonbug. He liked to camp and frequently went to Canada to fish. He took his family to the 1933 World's Fair in Chicago. He like to tell stores to the kids. He purchased a new car each year.
He died of carcinoma of signoid (lower colon cancer).

OBITUARY:
Ivin Floid Henthorne, telegraph operator for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company for 25 years died at his home in Porters Falls, [Wetzel Co., WV] at 11:40 p.m. last Thursday. He was 48 years old.
Funeral services were held from the Wharton Funeral Home at 2:30 o'clock last Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Mozena of Marietta officiating. Interment was made in the [North]view cemetery, New Martinsville. Rev. Allen Fields of Pine Grove assisted with the funeral services.
A son of the late Richard and Emma Mozena Henthorne, he was born in Wood County, [WV], Sept. 5, 1888. He was a member of the Christian Church.
His widow, Lillie Liston Henthorne, survives, in addition to two sons, Raymon[d] and Dale, two daughters, Helen and Betty, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Tice and Mrs. George Flynn, both of Parkersburg. One grandson also survives.
