Isaac W. Danford, aged eighty-five years, many years ago clerk of courts of Noble county, and later a member of the Wickham & Danford insurance agency at Caldwell, and prominent resident of this place, died last Wednesday in the University hospital at Columbus, following an illness due to his advanced years.

Removing from Caldwell, he resided for a number of years on his farm near Kennonsburg in Wayne township until three years ago when he went to Columbus to reside with his daughters.

Isaac Wilson Danford was born on April 11, 1856, on a farm in Noble county, the son of Eli and Ann (Yoho) Danford. He taught in the public schools of the county and later served as county clerk of courts, residing in Caldwell.

For twenty years he was associated with the state auditor's office in Columbus, where he acted as chief accountant in the excise tax division. Upon retiring from public life, he operated his farm between Quaker City and Kennonsburg until the farm was taken over by the Muskingum Valley Conservancy District. He then returned to Columbus, where he resided at the time of his death. He had been a member of the Masonic order for over fifty years.

Mr. Danford's wife, Margaret Minerva (Stilts) Danford, also a native of this county, preceded him in death three years ago. Four children of this union died in infancy. A son, Erwin I., was killed overseas in the first World war. A daughter Mrs. Amber (Danford) Hammond, died three months ago.

He is survived by two daughters, Miss Barbara, executive secretary of the state department of public welfare, Miss Gretchen, a teacher in Medary School, a grandson, Tom Danford Hammond, all of Columbus, and two sons, Dan and Otis B. of San Diego, California.

The body was brought to the Eberle funeral home in Quaker City, Thursday, and funeral services, conducted by Rev McFarland, were held in the Kennonsburg Methodist church on Friday afternoon, followed by interment in the church cemetery. Burial: Kennonsburg Cemetery Noble Co. Ohio

Yoho, Peter

Peter Yoho -- The subject of this sketch was the second son of a family of nine children of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob and Rachel Yoho, all of whom having preceding him to the great beyond, expect two sisters, Cynthia and Mrs. John Tucker.

He was born near Kennonsburg [OH] on the 24th day of September, 1841 and died about 11:30 A.M., March 4, 1920 at his home on the farm near Mt. Ephriam, being seventy-eight years, five months and ten days old. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Stevens on December 23, 1869 and to this union were born children, Mary C. having died in infancy. He leaves his death, his wife, one son, John W., Mrs. Martha Gregg of Akron, Mrs. Anna Danford of the home, also three grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.

Well does anyone having had personal acquaintance with Mr. Yoho know that he was a kind and loving husband and father, an honorable and upright individual and of whom all his neighbors held in high esteem, and by his departure the neighbor has lost a citizen with a standard to which many might well be proud to have attained and which will greatly missed, as he was both a contributor to its welfare and to the church as well, and in his life do we find what the world would designate as a home man by his presence, always being being found there expect when duty called him away. But now the friends are brought to say feel as well that.

A precious one from them is gone,
A voice they loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in their home
Which never can be filled.

Yoho, Alvin H.

Alvin H. Yoho, 86, of Cambridge [OH] died at 9:05 P.M. Saturday [May 1, 1964] at Guernsey Memorial Hospital [Cambridge, OH]. He was born May 2, 1878, son of Samuel and Marian Yoho, and was a retired coal miner. His wife, the former Daisy Meighen, died in 1947.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lucille Jennings and Mrs. Ruth Cain of Cambridge and Mrs. Beulah Jones of Wheeling; four sons, Haven of Lore City, Reed of Akron, Raymond and Aretus of Cambridge; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Thorn Funeral Home here 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Services will be held at the funeral home at 1 P.M. Tuesday with Rev. Keith Price officiating. Burial will be in Kennonsburg Cemetery.

Yoho, Samuel

Samuel Yoho, died at his home near Kennonsburg [OH] last Saturday, [22 Jul 1911] aged sixty-one years.

The deceased is survived by his wife and three sons. The funeral was held Monday, followed by burial in the Kennonsburg Cemetery.
