Yoho, Floyd R.

Ex-Deputy, Lawmaker is Dead at 99

Private services will be held for Floyd R. Yoho, a former deputy sheriff of Marshall County [WV] who served four terms on the West Virginia Legislature as a delegate of Marshall County, who died Saturday [21 Jul 1990] in Mound View Health Care Center. He was 99.

A resident of Moundsville, he was born May 21, 1891, in Marshall County, a son of the late John and Kathleen Franklin Yoho.

Yoho, who served eight years as deputy sheriff, also served three terms on Moundsville City Council. He was retired owner-operator of the former Shepherd & Yoho Grocery Store in Moundsville; a member of Simpson Methodist Church, Moundsville; an Army veteran of World War I; a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Shepherd Yoho; a brother, Blair; a sister, Georgia Yoho Mason. Surviving are a son, Dr. David E. Yoho of Singer Island, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Janice) Gallaher of Gaithersburg, MD; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Grisell Funeral Home, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville.
