BIOGRAPHY: Ethel Briggs reports that Henry Garner had quite a temper. He shot and killed a neighbor by the name of Dunham. He did time for the crime. He later returned to his farm and lived there until his death.

OBITUARY:
Henry T. Garner, 80, of Proctor [WV] Rt. 2 retired sawmill operator, passed away in the Wetzel County Hospital May 17 following a lengthy illness. Born near Proctor, March 30, 1882, he was the son of John and Martha Coffield Garner.

He is survived by his wife, Della Sharp Garner.

Other survivors include two nephews: Homer Hall of McMechen, Earl Hall, Wheeling. Two nieces: Mrs. Bessie Truax and Mrs. Helen Burkhart, both of Wheeling.

Mr. Garner was a member of the Antioch Christian Church.

Friends were received at the Wharton and Ellis Funeral Home where funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 20th at 2 p.m. with W.H. Sliter, minister of the First Christian Church of New Martinsville officiating. Interment was in the Antioch Cemetery.
