EMIGRATION: His parents were not listed in the 1880 census of Monroe Co., OH. They must have moved west by then.

OBITUARY:
Charles Wilbur Hannahs, 83, died Saturday morning,  January 12, 1957 at his home, 304 South Broadway,  Barnesville [Belmont Co., OH].

Born in Monroe County [OH] on June 17, 1873, he was the son of John and Elizabeth Stevens Hannahs.

His wife, [married, 7 Oct 1895 in Calais, Monroe Co., OH] Laura Belle Carpenter Hannahs, preceded in death in 1951 [24 Sep 1951, Barnesville, Belmont Co., OH].

Surviving are one son Austin Hannahs of the home; one daughter; Mrs. Georgia Eagon of Barnesville; two sisters, Kate Brownfield, of Newcomerstown, and Miss Minnie Hannahs of Columbus; and four brothers, Thurman P. Hannahs and Friend Hannahs of Cambridge; William Hannahs of Newcomerstown and Liston Hannahs of Calais. a daughter, Mrs. Opal Dewar, died in 1956.

Funeral services were held at the Campbell Funeral Home in Barnesville on Monday afternoon at two o'clock with Rev. Floyd Workman of the Main Street Methodist Church, officiating. Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park [Barnesville, Belmont Co., OH].
