NEWCOMERSTOWN [OH] --- Sara J. Pearson, 64, of Newcomerstown, [OH] died Monday (March 24, 2003) at Riverside Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newcomerstown, following a brief illness.
She was born May 27, 1938, in Cambridge, [OH] daughter of the late Reed and Alice L. (Stone) Yoho.
Mrs. Pearson was a 1956 graduate of Cambridge High School, where she served as class valedictorian. She studied electronics and technical courses following graduation.
She was employed as an auditor in the quality assurance department of NCR in Cambridge, for more than 20 years. She was also employed as an operator for General Telephone in Cambridge, Wilmington and Gallipolis and worked for American General Insurance in Coshocton.
She was a member of the former Westminster Presbyterian (Unity) Church in Cambridge, Newcomerstown Women of the Moose, Chapter 29, and was a social member of Thomas Montgomery Post 431 in Newcomerstown American Legion.
She enjoyed gardening, shopping, reading and working on crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles J. Kail.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Keith G. (Jacqueline) Hultz of Newcomerstown; three sons, David A. Pearson of Parkersburg, W.Va., Steven C. (Jennifer R.) Pearson of Gahanna and John M. (Selena R.) Pearson of West Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Chris Pearson serving with the U.S. Navy in the Dominican Republic, Sara Hultz of Newcomerstown, Jocelyn Miller of West Lafayette, and Steven C. Pearson Jr., Matthew R. Pearson and Kassidy A. Pearson all of Gahanna.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday and from 10 to 11 A.M. Friday at Ourtant Funeral Home, Newcomerstown, where services will follow at 11 A.M. with the Rev. Glen Shedlock officiating. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge [OH].
