QUESTION: The 1910 census shows Friend Goddard married to Celia.  Others have listed his wife as Harriet Ann Hafer.  Was he married twice?

OBITUARY:
Friend William Goddard, of Proctor, was born April 8, 1884 and departed this life, December 4, 1942, at the age of 58 years, 7 months, and 29 days.  He had been in poor health for several years.

He became a member of the Christian Church, sixteen years ago.

He was united in marriage to Cecelia Hafer on June 13, 1909 and to their union four children were born:  Clarence Melvin Goddard, of Mingo Junction, Ohio; Lawrence Bernard Goddard, of Proctor; one daughter, Golda Mae Cecil, of Proctor.  One son preceded him in death.  Also surviving are four brothers: Clarence Goddard, of Jacksonburg; Francis Goddard, of American Ridge; Russel Goddard of Proctor; Johnnie Goddard, of Martins Ferry, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. John Smith of Clarington, O.; Mrs. Homer Kocher, of Bridgeport, O.; nine grandchildren, one foster daughter, Bernice Kirk, and a host of more distant relatives and many friends.

He was laid to rest in the Goddard Cemetery.
